Boston Flow was originally founded as a Facebook group in September 2014 – a safe space where flow artists and like-minded individuals could meet, express themselves, and share their passions. We take pride in our foundational focus on community service and our start as a DIY grassroots movement.

Boston Flow goes beyond providing for the flow arts community. By volunteering at local schools, hosting fundraisers, and performing for charities and causes of all shapes and sizes, the recently formed Boston Flow Troupe works hard to spread love and appreciation for the flow arts and its benefits all over New England.

We could always use a helping hand with our volunteer endeavors. To donate outgrown, unused, or unwanted props for our community service events and kids’ hoop classes, or to learn more about how to bring the flow arts to your organization or school, please contact us.

Boston Flow is entering its third year of bringing flow arts to local schools. We currently work with children grades K-8 in the Rafael Hernandez School, leading weekly classes designed to teach young minds how to use different flow props.

Once a month, the Boston Flow Troupe votes on a cause to support for their famous Benefit Burns. The typical Benefit Burn features a potluck, local art showcase, jam circle, and of course, a safe space for fire spinning. These gatherings double as fundraisers and awareness events intended to provide Boston’s creative community with an opportunity to make a difference while doing what they love. Some past causes and nonprofits supported by Boston Flow include The Greater Boston Food Bank, Animal Rescue League of Boston, Pebbles for Nepal, Happy Hippie Foundation, Vh1 Save the Music, Sacred Stone Camp, ABCD, Feminist Fiber Art, Democracy MattersRafael Hernandez School, The Cambridge Women’s Center, hurricane relief for Houston & Puerto Rico, and counting.
